Interprofessional Escape Room Workshop – July 23, 2026

Join us the day before TIPEC Annual Conference for a hands-on workshop on developing an interprofessional escape room
for your students.

On Thursday, July 23, from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm Central, we will be hosting an interactive workshop on designing an interprofessional escape room. Participants will experience an IP escape room with their colleagues then work together to develop escape rooms that meet the needs of their learners.

Throughout the course of the workshop, learners will:

  • Become familiar with the theory behind experiential learning
  • Experience an IP escape room first-hand
  • Learn how the escape room concept has been applied to interprofessional education
  • Discover what skills and knowledge can be taught using an escape room format and why it may be a good fit for your learners
  • Connect the IPEC competencies to escape room curricula
  • Learn the role of a facilitator in the escape room experience
  • Discuss the difference between debriefing and giving feedback to learners
  • Personalize the escape room concept to your learners and develop a scaffold to design your own escape room

Participants will leave the conference with resources to help them continue to develop their own escape rooms at their home institutions.

The workshop will be held on Lipscomb University’s campus, in the same location as the conference. The discounted hotel room rate extends to Wednesday evening, July 22, so come early and join us as we collaborate to bring the escape room experience to your learners.
