For Our Dieticians & Nutritionists: “Getting to Know Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Strategies for Implementation.

The NDEP Interprofessional Education Committee is hosting a complimentary webinar: “Getting to Know Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Strategies for Implementation.” Informational review of the 2022 ACEND standards related to interprofessional education and practice (KRDN 2.5); how to embed IPE into your curriculum; strategies for getting buy-in from administrators and faculty colleagues; faculty panel with expertise in implementing an IPE effort at their institution; with time for Q & A. This NDEP-sponsored webinar is intended for DPD/CP Faculty, possibly preceptors. This will be the 1st of a 2-part series. The 1st is intended to provide information to the faculty who teach dietetic students/interns. The 2nd (planned for a later date) is the preceptors.

Learning Objectives for this webinar:

  • Summarize the existing overlap between the ACEND standards and the IPEC core competencies
  • Describe what an interprofessional education collaborative will look like at your academic institution
  • Develop key talking points for pitching the interprofessional collaborative education concept to administrators and other health care faculty
  • Create a draft plan for how to integrate interprofessional collaborative education into the didactic curriculum
