Shannon Cole

Shannon Cole, DNP, APRN-BC: Dr. Shannon Cole has been a faculty member at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing since 1999, where she teaches in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She is a founding member of the Vanderbilt Program for Interprofessional Learning (VPIL) and currently serves as its co-director. Prior to being named Co-Director, she was both clinic and simulation coordinator for the organization.  Dr. Cole’s academic responsibilities include aligning the vision of the program with the curricular needs of four health professional schools housed at five Institutions and facilitating quality improvement as well as curriculum and scholarship development. Dr. Cole also serves as Co-Director of Clinical Services for the Tennessee Practice and Education Consortium (TIPEC) and serves on the curriculum committee for the Nashville Interprofessional Consortium. Dr. Cole has over 20 academic presentations on the development of IPE in the United States and in Canada.
