2020 Opioid Education Symposium: Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) and Opioid Abuse

We encourage you to integrate this event into your curriculum and include a minimum of 2 disciplines so that students can participate in the networking break (full agenda to follow).  Prizes will be awarded.  At your choosing, we can provide you with the pre-reading materials will assign and pre/post quiz.

Objectives:

  1. Recognize the devastating factors contributing to opioid abuse regionally and nationally including but not limited to Adverse Childhood Events
  2. Recognize the importance of engaging individuals that have suffered Adverse Childhood Events with a trauma informed approach.
  3. Recognize diverse perspectives of those addressing opioid addiction (i.e. cultural, disciplinary, and ethical.)
  4. Awareness of the unique needs of different populations when addressing opioid addiction.
